We need to hire some amazing people to support our Safe Space program as Peer Support Workers.
We aren’t looking for people with fancy formal qualifications. We need everyday people who are great non-judgemental listeners who want to help people in our community.
Run out of our space at Redcliffe, the Safe Space program provides a welcoming and supportive place for people experiencing psychological distress.
As a Safe Space Peer Support Worker, you will:
- Greet clients and ensure they feel welcome and safe in the space.
- Talk to clients to understand why they’ve come along and what support they might need.
- Provide social and emotional support by listening, problem solving and discussing helpful services that are available to them (and making a cuppa or two!).
- Update the visitor database (with client permission) so clients don’t have to retell their story each time they visit.
