The Opportunity

Based in our Southport office, the focus of the role is managing and supporting a caseload of youth participants to achieve education, training, employment, or hybrid outcomes.

The purpose of this role is to engage with youth participants to identify skills, increase their education levels, non-vocational skills, readiness to work and assist in finding sustainable education, training, employment, or hybrid opportunities.

This is achieved through activities such as the Youth Engagement Platform (YEP), individual coaching and support, group activities, specific interventions, online and digital services, referral to specialist providers to provide further assistance to participants to overcome barriers to workforce participation.

The role will also engage with employers to encourage participation with job seekers and provide support when job seekers are in the hiring and onboarding process.

 

About you

You will be a proactive, efficient, and personable self-starter with a passion for supporting youth in their employment journey, along with the following: 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including accurate spelling and grammar.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to identify escalation points.
  • High level of digital literacy.
  • Skilled in the accurate and efficient administration and undertaking of processes and data entry.
  • Able to proactively provide prompt, efficient and quality customer experiences and communications in a courteous, professional and empathetic manner.
  • Knowledge of local labour markets and economic impacts on the employment sector.
  • An understanding of the issues and barriers facing youth participants and how to successfully work with them to achieve sustained employment outcomes.
  • Knowledge of, or the ability to understand and interpret, DESE guidelines and the TtW deed.
  • Ability to engage, build rapport with and support customers of diverse demographics and social backgrounds.
  • Strong ability to actively develop and manage relationships with customers to achieve sustained success.
