ABOUT THE ORGANISATION:

One Step Care is a Registered NDIS provider, known for providing support services to participants with disability, and supporting them towards their mental health across Melbourne and Geelong. ABOUT THE ROLE

The role of a Support Coordinator & Psychosocial Recovery Coach is to provide individualised support to participants (who have a disability and/or mental illness) of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). The Support Coordinator & Psychosocial Recovery Coach will work with the participant to implement the supports within the person’s plan for the purpose of building capacity, managing the impact of their disability, and improving their health, well-being, and participation within the community. 

This role is an 18-month contract and will then become permanent-full time.

The role is “working from home”.  

The contractor is scheduled to begin their employment on September 18th.

WHAT IS REQUIRED FROM YOU:

  • The ability to work autonomously and as part of a close-knit remote team.
  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking.
  • The ability to keep your cool under pressure.
  • Creative thinking.
  • The ability to take a coaching approach with your participants to build their capacity in managing their own NDIS plan.
  • The ability to deliver high-quality services.
  • The ability to complete mandatory reporting to the NDIS and child protection.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • A minimum of certificate IV/Diploma in Disability, Mental Health, Community Services.
  • At least two years of experience in disability / mental health / community services sector.
  • Right to work in Australia
  • Satisfactory completion of safety screening including a National Police check, International Police check (if required), a NDIS Working screen check
  • A current Victorian Working with Children Check (Employee),
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence
  • Experience in case management/supporting people with complex needs, or previous Support Coordination experience
