ICS Child Protection Residential Intervention Services apply needs-based thinking to attachment-focused care within a trauma-informed therapeutic milieu.
ICS Residential Services work with children, young people and their families (where appropriate) to identify and address therapeutic needs, as well as to support a transition to family-based care settings. The multi-disciplinary team includes Care Practitioners, Residential Coordinators, Program Managers and the General Manager.
About the role
The Clinician/Case Worker role is responsible for providing clinical services to children, young people and families involved in statutory out of home care. This includes working in a residential setting to review clinical plans (therapeutic support plans, positive behaviour support plans), conduct clinical assessments and therapeutic interventions, complete case management tasks, manage and respond to critical incidents and engage with stakeholders. The role also includes coaching and training for carers/parents on child-specific needs, and facilitating individual and group/family work. The position is required to work directly with children, young people and families with complex behavioural issues in a residential care setting.

Skills and experience
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services or an appropriate, relevant qualification.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in working with children and families, particularly in assisting with the assessment, planning processes and support around the management of children with difficult behaviours and/or family intervention.
- Demonstrated intermediate ability to use computer IT systems including MS Word and Excel.
- Queensland Provisional Green or above Driver License.
- Possess a current Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
- Ability to apply for any other legislatively required personal history screening as required.
- Must be fully vaccinated in line with the ATGA guidelines for COVID-19.
