MENTAL HEALTH OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST
To Dear the OT who needs a bit of excitement, this one’s for you;
You’re an qualified OT, so you probably fall into one of the following categories:
1) You have worked in non mental health roles, but have the passion and thirst to dive into the world of mental health.
2) You’ve started a new role – you were told you would have ‘support and supervision’ but you’re yet to see it. Your caseload numbers are ridiculous and work expectations are more than likely going to lead to burnout. There is no consistency in the type of referral you receive and alas – no opportunity to refine your skills in a specific area.
3) You’ve been in the same role for years. You’re ambivalent about change, but tempted to dip your toes in the water.
Were we right?
So, what now?
- You want an exciting job in the mental health sector, where you can be autonomous and independent.
- You would love flexible work arrangements (because we all like wearing pyjama bottoms at times!).
- You want ongoing, professional and experienced supervision – anytime you need.
- You want to refine and develop your therapy skills and be given generous PD leave to pursue areas of interest.
- You want to work for a small, private organisation that values excellence, integrity, respect and empowerment above all else.
- You want the security and longevity of a job (no contract or casual work).
- You genuinely want to do the groundwork, build your case load and of course, support some of Melbourne’s most vulnerable clients.
- You don’t want to be a ‘number’ on a payroll. You want to be an individual, who is seen and heard.
If you nodded your head to these points, then you NEED to be on the team at Recovery In Mind. Rest assured – we offer PLENTY of supervision, support and grade your work level (and referrals) at a pace that suits YOU. We have a specific Mental Health Learning Program that you can work through at your own pace to develop your skills in the sector.
We welcome OT applications from all backgrounds and experiences.
