About the role
We are looking for a Learning Support Advisor to join our growing team who will be supporting our domestic and international students in meeting the academic requirements of subjects, in particular assessments across our higher education (Ikon) and vocational education provider (ALG).
This role will provide one-on-one and group sessions on various academic skills to support student learning, engagement, and success.
In addition, this role will liaise with the academic staff to identify and work with students needing an academic support plan developed and implemented to promote and assist successful academic student outcomes.
About you
You are passionate about supporting students on their learning journey and have demonstrated experience delivering student support initiatives and workshops.
You have good interpersonal skills, and excellent communication, both written and verbal. You are a team player but can also work autonomously on priority tasks. You are able to work with a diverse group of people in a collaborative manner.
Education, Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor qualification or higher (preferred) within an area related to the role
- Experience in a learning support role, preferably within higher education or vocational education.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently with high self-motivation.
- Strong computer and software skills.
- Willingness to adapt to change and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Understanding of requirements associated with regulatory frameworks, especially the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2021.
