  • permanent full-time position (38 hours per week)

About the program and role

Wesley Mission’s Community and Family Care teams build resilience and strengthen capacity in the local communities where we work.  We support people using evidence-based, trauma-informed, person-centred approach in a holistic manner and on a voluntary basis. 

As a Group Facilitator, you will deliver specialised practise in planning and conducting groups, events, and workshops. The Group Facilitator will promote, foster, and build community connections to increase referral pathways, improve referral systems, develop Indigenous and CALD community engagement and improve service awareness.

We are looking for an outstanding Group Facilitator & Administration Officer who is conscientious, reliable, and motivated about making a difference. As a Group Facilitator within the Targeted Earlier Intervention program, you will be providing community-based services with the goal of preventing children and young people from entering the child protection system.

All staff at Child, Youth & Family work hard to develop and maintain harmonious working relationships in an autonomous-supportive work environment where they are all trained to be the best in their field. Wesley Mission provides regular supervision, support, and training for all staff.

 

Essential Criteria

  • a relevant tertiary qualification in Social Science, Social Work or Psychology
  • clear understanding of the complex needs, and challenges vulnerable young people experience
  • experience with electronic client databases and the effective management of client information
  • experience in providing appropriate information and referral pathways for clients
  • ability to plan and participate in community events and youth focus groups in a variety of settings, including occasional after-hours and weekend work
  • cultural competence and experience working alongside Culturally and Linguistically Diverse people and First Nations families
  • current NSW or National Driver’s License and Working with Children’s Check.

 

Desirable criteria

  • working knowledge of the local child and family support sector
  • training in evidence-based groups.

 

Remuneration

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award Level 4. Other applicable allowances available including external clinical supervision and training.
