The Psychosocial Group Facilitator will play a crucial role in supporting Psychosocial Social Workers in the facilitation and delivery of group sessions. This position is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of group activities and assisting in creating a supportive and inclusive environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting Psychosocial Social Workers: Provide support and assistance to Psychosocial Social Workers in the planning, organisation, and execution of group sessions.
- Supportive Environment: Create a safe and supportive environment for participants, ensuring their emotional well-being and addressing any concerns or conflicts that may arise during group sessions.
- Manage the adherence to BRAMS’ quality management practices to ensure ongoing compliance and accreditation across multiple care standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience in group facilitation.
- Sound understanding of the Aboriginal Medical Service Model of Care.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
- Demonstrated experience in group facilitation, preferably in a mental health or psychosocial support setting.
- Knowledge of group dynamics, group process, and therapeutic techniques applicable to group settings.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting individuals in their psychosocial well-being.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
