Are you seeking a rewarding role as a Care Coordinator/Health Clinician, supporting the older individuals of the Central Coast? Central Coast Local Health District have a great opportunity for you to bring your expertise to the forefront with new positions available within the Older Persons Mental Health Team in Wyong.

  • Develop your skills working in an environment which is recovery-oriented and attentive to the patients biopsychosocial needs
  • Demonstrate your expertise working in partnership with consumers, carers, general practitioners and other services and supports in support of our older community
  • Play a part in supporting patients early discharge and assist with their discharge plans facilitating their healthy return to community 

This is a maternity relief position and should the permanent incumbent require an early return from maternity leave, this contract of employment will cease with two weeks notice. Maternity relief positions can be for a period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of continued employment for up to a further 12 months for maternity leave reduced hours, therefore there are no claims to permanency. 

 

This recruitment may be used to fill future positions via an eligibility list for permanent, full time, part time, temporary and casual positions.

About You

  • You have experience working with consumers and carers over the age of 65 years and a have a demonstrated understanding of the issues for older people experiencing moderate to severe mental health issues
  • You hold a Tertiary Bachelor Degree in Social Work (where degree provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Work) or a Degree in Occupational Therapy (plus general registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia) or Nursing with Division 1 Registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA a Degree in Psychology with Registration with the Psychology Board APHRA
  • You hold a current valid Australian Drivers Licence with a willingness to travel within Central Coast geographical locations
  • You understand recovery models in mental health and are driven by ethos of implementing these models within clinical practice.

 

Education Requirements

  • Minimum Tertiary Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Occupational Therapy with AHPRA registration or Social Work with AASW membership or Counselling or Community Welfare, with three years post graduate experience in mental health.
  • OR Master’s Degree Clinical Psychology with endorsement to practice as a Clinical Psychologist with AHPRA 
  • OR Tertiary Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Inc. Div. 1 AHPRA registration) with relevant post grad qualifications and at least 3 years’ experience working in the clinical area of their post grad study.
