The role:
This role spearheads the operational delivery of mental health care access in North Western Melbourne. It’s not just about leading – it’s about weaving a vibrant tapestry of integration, boosting awareness, and revolutionising referrals. The Lead will champion streamlined processes, elevate consumer satisfaction, and fortify safety, all while igniting a high-performance team. Collaborating with the Manager, Mental Health Services, they’ll set the standard of quality and safety through innovative systems and clinical guidance, all in the pursuit of an immersive consumer experience.
Key Duties:
- Promote ‘No wrong door’ approach and person-centred assessments via IAR-DST.
- Foster collaborative relationships with referring and referred providers.
- Stay updated on regional services, ensuring current referral pathways.
- Supervise referral team, address risks, and facilitate professional growth.
- Aid in advancing primary mental health commissioning.
- Monitor patient experience and service data for enhancement.
- Ensure compliance with governance and policies, reporting as needed.
- Orientate and mentor new and junior team members with the coordinator.
- Collaborate across units, offering clinical insights on MH programs.
- Contribute to projects and networks for improved region-wide access.
- Escalate complex issues as necessary.
You will have:
- Tertiary qualification and Registration as a Mental Health Professional (Social Work (Mental Health Accredited), Psychology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy)
- Mental Health accreditation with the relevant professional body (e.g. ACMHN, AASW) and AHPRA registration (where applicable) Or be eligible and willing to get registration prior to commencing
- Five years’ experience in a relevant mental health setting and evidence of supporting multidisciplinary teams
You will also be willing to undergo police and Working with Children Checks, as well as provide 2 recent managerial references.
