Our Leaving and Post Care programs provide a housing first approach with tailored support to ensure each young person can anchor in safety and stability and be championed by a team of people committed to supporting each young person’s future goals. The successful applicant will be highly dedicated and passionate about working with young people and assist in building a work force that will inspire and motivate change by providing opportunities through agile, innovative culturally appropriate services.
The successful applicant will have strong relationships with key stakeholders (such as RASA, DCP, Office of the Guardian, key industry youth service providers), ability to advocate and form strategic relationships that allow the service to continue to develop its suite of opportunities.
What can you expect to be doing?
- Provide effective leadership, guidance, facilitation of life skills and independent living workshops, resolution of conflict and feedback and advice to Support Facilitators.
- Lead the delivery of case management, support coordination, counselling, referral and advocacy within a collaborative, culturally responsive and restorative framework.
- Provide direct client services in an accessible manner through group work, face-to-face, outreach, telehealth and phone.
- Be involved in the ongoing design and development of the Post Care Support Services program.
What do you need to bring?
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or demonstrated knowledge and competencies appropriate to Social Work.
- Ability to provide direct line management and leadership for team members with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
- Knowledge of available resources, services, and programs within the community, such as healthcare facilities, social services, educational institutions, and support groups, and the ability to advocate effectively for socially just and equitable access to these resources.
