This position is dependent on Qualifications:

Social Work Level 1/2 – ($1,292.52 – $1,872.58) per week
Occupational Therapist 1/2 - ($1,292.52 – $1,872.58) per week
Psychologist – ($1,365.31 – $2,029.47) per week

What you will be doing:

The purpose of this role is to provide mobile community acute mental health services for children and young people under 18 years of age and their families who require an assertive community mental health response. This includes providing rapid, developmentally appropriate intervention to prevent crisis situations, and providing care as close to home as possible to reduce disruption to family, community supports and schooling. Additionally, a primary aim of this role is to prevent avoidable hospital presentations and admissions, and to facilitate early discharge where admission has been necessary.

Selection criteria to be addressed:

  1. Recognised tertiary qualification in psychology, social work or occupational therapy, with current registration AHPRA (psychology, occupational therapy) or eligibility for membership with AASW.
  2. Demonstrated skills to apply professional knowledge and skills in a complex child and youth mental health setting, including evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge of family systems and ability to work therapeutically with families to improve mental health outcomes for children and young people.
  4. Demonstrated understanding of childhood trauma, child protection and domestic and other violence as they relate to child and youth mental health.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to utilise a range of information systems.
  7. Demonstrated skills in evidence-based practice, quality improvement and capacity to participate in research projects to evaluate and develop practice.
  8. Current unrestricted NSW driver’s licence and willingness to use same for work purposes (P2 acceptable).
