About the role
In the newly created role of the Children and Young Persons Case Worker, you will have the opportunity to provide direct services to children and young people that are trauma informed, family centred and culturally appropriate. This role will support children, young people and their families to access mainstream and specialist services that will promote improved housing, safety and wellbeing outcomes.
This role will also work closely with Nova’s Operation Manager and Practice Leader on initiatives such as training, consultation, coaching and shared case management to build capacity across the organisation in the way we work with children and young people. This role is offered as a 12-month contract with possibility of extension subject to funding.
About you
You are a passionate individual who possess’ the following:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology and/or related behavioural sciences
- 3-5 years’ experience providing high-quality holistic and child centred case management.
- Working with vulnerable woman and children and maintain strong skills in the assessment of risk and safety.
- A passion for supporting women and children in our community.
- Comprehensive knowledge of local community services.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Being female is a genuine occupational qualification as per section 31(2) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW). Prior to an offer of employment, you will be required to have a current driver’s licence and Working with Children Check.
