About the job…

We are seeking a Full Time Specialist Domestic and Family Violence Practitioner to join our caring and friendly team in Maryborough until 28 June 2024 with possibility for extension. Extension of employment contract beyond this date is subject to the continued successful government funding of the program.

This position will work as part of the Family and Child Connect service providing specialist domestic and family violence advice and assistance to colleagues and people contacting the service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess referrals into the service to screen for domestic and family violence and undertake risk assessments where domestic and family violence is identified.
  • Provide colleagues and enquirers with advice on safe engagement strategies for families affected by domestic and family violence.
  • Participate in home visits where appropriate.
  • Assist with the assessment of client needs and decisions regarding intensive support, case management and referral pathways.

About you…

  • A tertiary degree in a relevant discipline (Allied Health, Social Work, Human Services).
  • Professional registration (if required) and membership of a relevant professional association (desirable).
  • Safe and Together Training (desirable).
  • At least 5 years working in a domestic and family violence capacity.
  • An understanding of contemporary issues and challenges in the field of child protection and approaches to enhancing child safety and wellbeing.
  • Ability to engage, empower and build strong working relationships with a diverse range of clients stakeholders, partners and colleagues.

About the pay…

  • Position is classified Level 5 under the SCHADS award.
  • Salary range is $93,860 – $98,112 per annum plus superannuation

Other requirements…

  • Eligibility for a positive Working with Children Check in the applicable state of employment in Australia or exemption based on professional qualifications and registration.
  • Current driver’s licence.
