DASA has a 12-month vacancy for an experienced Case Manager to work at Aranda House Therapeutic Community in Mparntwe (Alice Springs). Aranda House is a 20 bed residential rehabilitation program, with an additional 8 bed transitional program attached. The successful candidate will form part of a small team of Case Managers and will be committed, reliable and highly motivated.
The Key Responsibilities of the Case Manager are:
- Developing, facilitating and participating in the community programs relating to relapse prevention, harm reduction, health promotion and wellbeing activities.
- Developing and reviewing case management plans using a person-centred approach, in collaboration with residents and key stakeholders.
- Maintaining accurate, timely and relevant client records.
- Conducting Assessment, Intake & Exit of residents as required.
- Role modelling healthy, pro-social behaviour through appropriate and respectful behaviour.
- Encouraging, facilitating and supporting positive contact between residents and their families, friends, significant others, as well as other stakeholders relevant to the resident’s treatment journey.
- Contributing to continuous quality improvement and a safe workplace.
Qualifications
- Certificate IV / Diploma (or higher) in Community Services (AOD) or related field or substantial progress toward achieving this.
- Certificate IV Training & Assessment (TAE) Desirable
Experience / Knowledge / Skills
Essential:
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to converse with a diverse range of residents and fellow staff in a non-judgemental and culturally appropriate manner.
- Experience and confidence in facilitating therapeutic group sessions.
- Knowledge of the harms caused by alcohol and other drug misuse.
- Demonstrated understanding of the Therapeutic Community model and the Community As Method approach.
- Experience in conducting assessments with sensitivity and eliciting relevant and accurate information.
- Experience in the development of various case management plans, including risk management, relapse prevention, treatment, and exit plans.
- Demonstrated Case Management experience, including brief intervention techniques, motivational interviewing and case noting.
- The ability to work in a methodical and organised fashion while having appropriate boundaries with residents.
Special Conditions
- A current and valid driver’s license
- Ability to be ‘On-Call’ on a rotating roster basis
- National Police Clearance required
- Ochre Card (Working with Children Clearance) required
- Smoke Free working environment
- All employees are required to submit to regular and random alcohol and drug testing by breath, urine and mouth swab analysis.
