About us

Anglicare WA is a highly regarded not for profit organisation, delivering a diverse range of community services throughout Western Australia.  With over 630 staff and 220 volunteers, we are passionate about having a real and sustainable impact in the Western Australian community.

The Oak Program is a diversionary and intervention pilot program funded by WA Police to directly address family and domestic violence in the Albany region. Young perpetrators aged between 14-20 will be the focus of the program, with the aim to break the cycle of gender based family and domestic violence by changing the social, emotional, and psychological determinants of family violence, before abusive and violent behaviours become entrenched.

Delivered in partnership with Albany Youth Support Association, this is an exciting opportunity to support young people to develop healthy ways of interacting in relationships.

In this role, you’ll provide assessment, counselling and group work services to young people who have begun to develop abusive, controlling and coercive behaviors leading to domestic violence.

This is a part time (0.9 FTE), maximum term position until June 2026.

  • Skills and experience in group facilitation
  • Experience working in culturally safe and responsive ways with clients from Aboriginal and other diverse cultural backgrounds

  • Knowledge of victim survivor and perpetrator issues in Family and Domestic Violence
  • Knowledge of current theory, practice and issues related to family and domestic violence and trauma and impact on families

In return for your drive and commitment, we provide the support of an inclusive and welcoming community which places people at the heart of all the work we do and encourages broad thinking, curiosity, creativity and best practice.
