Senior Psychosocial Recovery Coach/ Support Coordinator
Sunflower Services is a registered NDIS provider servicing Newcastle, Maitland, the Hunter, and Adelaide. Job Description:
We are establishing ourselves in Adelaide, expanding our operations from Newcastle so we will need someone that can hit the ground running and assist the business in growing into this new space by networking and building a participant base.
To be successful in this role you must have a passion for helping others and have excellent conflict management skills. It is critical you have a solution- based mindset and look for positive solutions, not problems.
You must hold a relevant qualification in Psychology, Mental Health, Social Sciences, Community Services or alike. Previous managerial experience is highly regarded but not essential.
The role will include:
- Working therapeutically with Participants to develop strategies and positive habits for implementation throughout their daily lives.
- Take direction from the Team Leader, NDIS Service Manager & Operations Manager.
- Assist in Business Development and Growth Practices.
- Be a Mentor and Coach to other Support Coordinators and Psychosocial Recovery Coaches within your Team and the Regional Team.
- Work alongside the Team Leader to provide Mentorship and Therapeutic Support to your Team.
- Under the direction of the Team Leader, pass on your skills and knowledge learnt to inspire and develop your team.
- Assist in developing the Support Coordinators and Psychosocial Recovery Coach skills and NDIS literacy.
- Have a voice in decision, direction and policy making for the Business.
- Attend ‘Ready Set Connect Events’ & Disability Expos with other team members.
- Building a Recovery Plan for participants with Psychosocial disabilities.
- Discussing progress and strategies with the families and stakeholders of participants.
- Promote the belief that people are the expert in their own lives.
- Engage professionally with Allied Health Professionals and other Stakeholders.
- Help participants find out about different services and supports and how they can help them to achieve their goals.
- Help improve Sunflower Services Policies and Practices.
- Monitor Participants NDIS budgets.
- Developing Support Plans for Participants.
- Work in partnership with clinical Mental health services and other services.
- Develop positive relationships and networks with NDIS participants and NDIS stakeholders including Plan Managers and Support Coordinators.
- Maintaining progress/case notes and reporting these back to internal stakeholders. Competently meeting billable hours.
- Identifying potential crisis situations and proactively, effectively managing and mitigating these.
- Developing risk assessments for complex participants.
- Prepare plan reviews and other requested reports to the NDIA.
- Help clients better understand the NDIS with a gentle and caring approach.
- Acknowledge that each client’s journey will be different and adapting to different clients and complex behaviours.
- Co-ordinate a range of supports including informal, mainstream, and funded providers and support participants to complete service agreements where required.
- Regularly monitor plan outcomes and expenditure to ensure the services remain within the plan budget.
- Engage in marketing Sunflower with the Manager and promoting the business to NDIS stakeholders.
You must have: WWC (paid), Police Clearance, Covid Vaccinations, Comprehensive Car Insurance, Driver’s License and First Aid.
