About the Role

Meli is excited to advertise 2x Specialist Men’s Family Violence Practitioner positions, based at our South Geelong office. These roles are reporting to the Team Leader, Family Violence.

The core purpose of the Specialist Men’s Family Violence Practitioner is to provide preparation, coordination and facilitation of group work programs for men who perpetrate violence. Assessment, risk assessment, case management and secondary consults with male perpetrators is also part of the role. This role requires regular after hours work and provides support to lower classified staff and students.

  • Full-time positions, working 38 hours per week
  • Fixed term to 30 June 2025
  • $102,791 p/a + super + salary packaging

About You

  • Holds a degree in Social Work (or equivalent); or be working towards in line with recommendation 209 of the Royal Commission into Family Violence. Click here for more information: https://www.vic.gov.au/mandatory-minimum-qualifications-specialist-family-violence-practitioners
  • A graduate diploma of graduate certificate qualification in Client Assessment and Case Management (Men’s Family Violence) or willingness to undertake this course.
  • Experience in the specialist family violence field, demonstrated particularly in provision of intake, risk assessment and case planning and working with male perpetrators of family violence.
  • Understanding of the gendered nature of family violence and the impact upon women, children, and families, as well as identifying and working against collusion and minimisation of male family violence.
  • Demonstrated experience in complex problem solving, attention to detail and displays accuracy in program development, data collection and evaluation.
  • Ability to lead projects and participate in working groups; and provide support to lower classified staff and students.
