Targeted Support Team
The purpose of this team is to undertake a pilot program to provide coordination and direct support to families with children unborn to 17 years of age presenting with child protection concerns or involvement with the Department of Child Safety, Seniors, and Disability Services.
How you will make a Difference:
As a Family Support and Advocacy Worker you will provide consistency in coordination and direct support to referrals for families with children unborn to 17 years of age presenting with child protection concerns or involvement with the Department of Child Safety.
There are two full time, fixed term employment opportunities until June 2024, with conditions and salary at SCHADS Level 4 or 5 dependent on qualifications and/or skills and experience.
These positions will involve a mixture of planned case management, outreach support, coordination and problem solving with the identified families, and working with other teams supporting families that are experiencing child protection concerns and accessing services.
To be considered for this role, you’ll need to hold a relevant qualification and/or extensive experience, or a combination of experience, expertise, and competence.
You will also have demonstrated knowledge and experience of working with vulnerable families who have experienced disadvantages that could include homelessness or Child Safety involvement using a case work model.
Effective use of communication skills, ability to problem solve and advocate, and knowledge and/or experience in working with people in a human service setting, with the ability to learn cross-disciplinary responses to domestic and family violence housing and homelessness is also essential to this role.
