Work Support Officer The Casino Food Co-op

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Casino Food Co-op is a leading export food processor with production facilities located in Casino and Booyong, near Lismore, in the Northern Rivers area of the NSW Far North Coast.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Worker Support Officer to join our team. Positioned within the People and Culture team, this role will work closely with our in-house Counselling team to support the entry of new workers and provide holistic and tailored support for those facing barriers to employment. The role will have a strong community focus through outreach programs and contact with local service providers and companies. 

 

The main duties and responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Support new employees to begin employment.
  • Engage with local community groups such as schools, Centrelink, employment providers to encourage and support access to work for vulnerable clients. 
  • Build rapport with employees to develop relationships of trust and respect.
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders across the business and wider community.
  • Work with the Counselling team to develop and implement collaborative intervention plans. 
  • Provide practical support and guidance to employees in crisis.
  • Co-ordinate access to services and specialist care. 
  • Provide written and verbal reports. 

 

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications, skills and abilities:

  • Previous experience in social services and employment-based roles are desirable.
  • Formal qualifications in Human Resources Management, Social Sciences, Case Management or equivalent experience will be highly regarded. 
  • Experience working with employees from different nationalities and cultures. 
  • Proven ability to cultivate and foster relationships with key stakeholders. 
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to work autonomously, showing initiative and discretion. 
  • Current unrestricted driver’s licence.
