The DFV Program Manager is responsible for the management of Domestic and Family Violence Service Team at CORE Community Services. They will be responsible for leading and supervising the DFV team and for monitoring and overseeing the provision of all DFV services within the allocated budget. The position is also responsible for the design and development CORE’S Men’s Behaviour Change Program (MBCP) compliant with practise standard of Men’s Behaviour Change program targeting men’s from CALD background. Lead the MBCP registration process with Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ).

Facilitate the continuous improvement of program delivery and the achievement of strategic objectives of CORE Community Services through embedding and building best practice within existing DFV, establishing effective working relationships with community and partner agencies who provide relevant services and support for women and children who have experienced DFV.

Oversee the adherence to DFV program policy and procedure and work with the Service Manager to ensure that these are regularly reviewed and updated in line with legislation, best practice, and operational efficiency.

Develop staff competency in understanding the complexities of domestic and family violence, particularly within a CALD context.

Design and develop CORE’s Men’s Behaviour Change Programs (MBCPs), group-based programs and services that focus on working with men to enable them to recognise their violent behaviour and develop strategies to stop them from using violence.

Lead the registration process of MBCP program with the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) to receive funding or referrals from NSW government.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensure appropriate operational processes for all aspects of the current and future DFV services are developed, implemented, and documented.
  • Develop staff competency in quality improvement and program evaluation and data collection and reporting.
  • Manage the sharing of information, data collection and reporting in accordance with program, legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the DFV Team by nurturing a team culture and facilitate ways to strengthen inclusive communication, teamwork, learning and continuity of care.
  • Develop staff competency in providing culturally sensitive, client centred emotional support, empowerment and advocacy for women and children accessing CORE Community DFV Services
  • Provide leadership and supervision to the DVF Team including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, mentoring, and learning objectivities.
  • Design and develop CORE’s Men’s Behaviour Change Programs (MBCPs), group-based programs and services that focus on working with men to enable them to recognise their violent behaviour and develop strategies to stop them from using violence.
  • Lead the registration process of MBCP program with the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) to receive funding or referrals from NSW government.
  • DFV Program Manager will also be required to build and maintain strong and effective relationships and establish formal and informal partnerships with external service providers and other key stakeholders to improve and develop service delivery in line with strategic objectives.

 

Selection Criteria:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in program coordination, preferably within the DFV sector. Formal graduate qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, or other relevant disciplines.
  • Strong background and/or relevant training in working with clients with complex needs, including DFV clients from CALD backgrounds.
  • Experience in leading and managing teams within a strength based, trauma informed practice framework.
  • Demonstrated positive and effective stakeholder management and partnership development, preferably within a community services network
  • Understanding of risk management principles and the ability to apply appropriate risk management processes to service delivery and operations.
  • Strength in managing, developing, coaching, and retaining individuals and teams, empowering them to elevate their levels of responsibility, span-of-control and performance.
  • Experience working with men who are perpetrators of violence.
  • Understanding men’s behaviour change practice and the impact of DFV has on others.
  • Experience in facilitating men’s behaviour change programs is advantageous.
  • Completion (or working toward completion) of relevant training in MBC practice i.e., Grad Cert in MBC (Individual and Group) is desirable.
