Based out of our offices in Franklin Street in the CBD, this role within the Women’s Interventions team is responsible for assessment and treatment of female service users in custody and in the community. This team provides services to Dame Phyllis Frost Centre, Tarrengower Prison, and to female service users in the community.

The role will include opportunities to contribute to ongoing research and training on the assessment and treatment of relevant service users.

This role may require travel and the delivery of after-hours services.

Some of your duties may include:

  • Facilitating/co-facilitating clinical intervention programs for people who offend, as required.
  • Administering of assessment tools where required.
  • Completing comprehensive case notes in a timely fashion using the departments information systems.
  • Completing treatment plans, treatment reports, and risk assessment reports for internal and external stakeholders.

About You

As our ideal candidate, you will be able to show:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of/understanding of the link between AOD use and offending.
  • Experience working with Forensic AOD and/or dual diagnosis clients.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills delivering individual and/or group work interventions including ability to manage group dynamics and behaviour.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in addition to strong administrative and documentation skills.

How We Support and Reward You

Our work can be demanding so we offer comprehensive training and support.

  • A specialised induction program for new client-facing staff (including foundation, theory, and mentored on-the-job training)
  • Exposure to national and international experts in forensic work.
  • Mental health and wellbeing care – essential debriefing for the first 12 months for new forensic practitioners.
  • Supervision by senior clinical staff with support on a day-to-day basis.
  • Ongoing professional development including research program and study leave opportunities.
  • Relocation allowances for eligible candidates.
