JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for culturally safe and trauma informed youth, adult and family counsellors, youth workers and community empowerment workers.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Minimum of a Certificate III or Diploma in counselling, youth work Community Service, case management or similar field. 
  • Demonstrate experience in providing culturally appropriate and trauma-informed yarning; maintain cultural safety, confidentiality, and respect for self-determination.
  • Demonstrate ability to liaise with appropriate support services and programs relevant to client’s healing journey.
  • Commitment to on-going professional development, including professional supervision.
  • Demonstrate experience to work in a team environment and follow set directions and plans to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Must possess a current driver’s license.
  • The ability to obtain a blue card and willing to undergo a criminal history check.
  • Experience working within an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation or experience working within an Aboriginal community is an advantage.
