JOB DESCRIPTION

Due to additional funding DVPC is recruiting Men’s Program Facilitation and Intervention Workers to work with men who use violence and abuse in their relationships.  

Who should apply?

We will consider applications from both experienced workers as well as those who have transferable skills, or are new graduates with relevant qualifications and an interest in working with men in a specialist DV service. Ongoing training and development will be provided to successful candidates to enable them to fully meet the requirements of the position. 

This is a full-time (36.25hrs/week) role. 

About the role

The Program Facilitator Worker is part of a team that delivers the Men’s Domestic Violence Education & Intervention Program based on the Duluth framework for working with men and women. The role requires significant stakeholder engagement and liaison and will be responsible for completing documentation and providing reports. 

The role is based in our DVPC office on the Gold Coast however you will also provide services at the Southport Magistrates Court.

Salary

SCHADS Award SACS level 4 or 5 depending on the position.  The pay point will be determined by the successful applicant’s experience and qualifications.

About you

We are looking for someone with the following key attributes:

  • An understanding of the behaviour change process in relation to domestic and family violence
  • The ability to initiate respectful and accountable engagements with men who use violence in their relationships and guide them to critically reflect on their controlling and abusive behaviour, attitudes and beliefs 
  • Ability to produce accurate and comprehensive records in a timely manner
  • Able to work as part of a team 
  • Be flexible and adaptable and comfortable working with crisis situations in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Keep an open posture to learning about yourself and your practice

DVPC is a specialist Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) service based on the Gold Coast. It provides domestic and family violence responses to women, children and young people and delivers the Men’s DV Education and Intervention program in partnership with Queensland Corrective Services. DVPC offers services from Beenleigh to the border of New South Wales.
