About the role:
Located within our Programs and Services team in Bendigo,
this opportunity is part time 0.8 FTE, 30.4 hours per week. 

This newly created position will centre children and young
people’s experiences of family violence in case management practice, through
responding to children and young people as victim survivors in their own right.
Working as part of a team of experienced practitioners the Case Manager will
provide high quality, safe, and effective responses to Victorian children and
young people seeking support and safety, whilst keeping the perpetrator in
view. 

Duties include but are not limited to: 

  • Providing high quality, safe and effective responses to
    individuals and families that prioritises the safety, protection, and wellbeing
    of children and young people.
  • Provide an intake response where required alongside the
    Brief Intervention team ensuring children and young people receive direct
    support.
  • Conducting risk assessments, developing safety plans, and
    coordinating with other services within the integrated family violence system.
  • Provide case management directly with children and young
    people including case planning.

About you:
To be considered for this position you will have:

  • A minimum of Diploma level qualification in social work,
    psychology, community services and/or a related human services field (for

  • Demonstrated experience working directly with children
    experiencing family violence and/or complex needs.
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of family violence,
    including impacts on children and young people and young homeless women’s
    issues in accordance with service philosophies.
  • Experience in providing case work to individuals and/or
    families experiencing complex needs and risk issues including a sound knowledge
    of referral pathways.
  • The ability to work with limited supervision and exercise
    judgement and initiative in a fast paced and changing environment where
    practices and processes may not be clearly defined.
