JOB DESCRIPTION

Located in Rose Bay overlooking Sydney Harbour, Kambala is an historic, contemporary, and vibrant independent day and boarding school welcoming students from ELC to Year 12.

The role:

Applications are invited from outstanding registered Psychologists who have 5+ years of counselling experience in a P-12 school setting.  This position is permanent part-time, commencing mid-October (start date neg.)

  • 3 days per week (any), 8am-4pm.
  • Works all term time (38 weeks) + 9 additional days in school holidays, spread across the year (41 weeks total).
  • Reporting to the Deputy Principal Junior School (P-6) and Deputy Principal Wellbeing & Boarding (7-12).
  • Lead a team of 2 full-time School Counsellors (registered Psychologists), coordinating work within department, providing clinical support, and overseeing escalated cases.
  • In collaboration with the relevant Executive and other senior leaders, develop and implement proactive and preventative wellbeing initiatives in line with changing needs of students and broader contemporary issues facing girls and young women.
  • Play a lead role in managing school policy and procedure as related to Child Safe programs and critical incidents.
  • With support of key stakeholders, facilitate ongoing staff and parent learning around child protection and wellbeing in general.
  • Candidates must have extensive experience managing complex cases in the context of girls’ education.
  • Demonstrated success in leading a team, developing programs, and training others is essential.
  • Post-graduate qualifications are highly regarded.
