The Role 

The Intake Worker will be allocated and process all referrals into CFW and MACS. The Intake Worker will work with the Intake Team Leader to achieve organisational objectives and performance benchmarks and sustain a culture where excellence, continuous improvement, training, skills development, innovation and client experiences are priorities.   

The Intake Worker will respond to daily referrals and process demands, including but not limited to direct client engagement, reporting, debriefing, client follow-up and/or decision-making.    

They will also support achieving outcomes for clients and the CFW team, which is aligned with best practice and the CFW model of service delivery.  

An effective Intake Worker will participate with the CFW team and their Intake Team Leader to ensure the goals, aspirations and contractual obligations of the team are met and that the service accessibility is maximised for those most at risk.    

 

Salary and Benefits 

  • SCHADS Level 4.1 ($41.52 p/h) | Full-Time (38 Hours Per Week) | $82043.52 annually 
  • Contract dates ASAP until June 2024

  • Salary Packaging up to $15,900 (superannuation can be paid in addition to this, subject to any ATO limit if any).

Experience and Qualifications 

Essential  Qualifications – Tertiary qualification in counselling, social work, psychology, or human services (alongside relevant experience) received from a recognised university 

Essential Experience – Demonstrated experience, knowledge and skills in client-centred, strength-based holistic responses for clients who refer into CFW.  

Preferred Experience – Knowledge and experience in trauma-informed approaches to supporting women. High level of written and oral communication skills in organisational and interpersonal situations, particularly in responding to telephone enquiries from women who have experienced or are experiencing Domestic Violence.   

 

Selection Criteria (Mandatory in Application) 

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications (or working towards) in the education and training field, human services field, social work, psychology or similar, and relevant experience   
  2. Knowledge of Domestic and Family Violence, and its effect on women, children and the wider community and demonstrated understanding of current legislation (Domestic and Family Violence Act 2012).   
  3. Ability to provide a high-quality client-focused assessment, information and brief intake services for clients using sound organisational, analytical and time management skills.  
  4. Capacity to effectively and appropriately engage with women and children who have experienced Domestic and/or Family Violence. This includes experience working with women in crisis, understanding and identifying high-risk factors, assessing risk, and safety planning accordingly.    
  5. Experience working collaboratively with other agencies (both government and non-government).   
  6. Demonstrated ability to quickly and effectively critically reflect on self, clients, other team members and the possible interplay between them all.
