your opportunity

Based at St Marys, and working with the Social Enterprises team, this role has responsibility for leading, coordinating and delivering the Women to Work Program. You will be responsible for achieving program and contract objectives and performance requirements; and formulating and implementing strategies for the referral, recruitment, engagement, and outcome achievement of participants in the program.

Our Women to Work program aims to break the cycle of youth unemployment by providing long term unemployed young women with paid, scaffolded work experience and training as a ‘stepping stone’ to sustainable employment.

Your role will include:

• manage the day-to-day activities of the team
• lead, manage and mentor the team
• build an action plan based on program objectives and guidelines and undertake specific, targeted marketing and engagement activities
• coordinate and deliver work readiness and employer related workshops and activities

This is a full time, maximum term contract until 30 June 2025 in line with current funding.

what we are looking for

Program participants are women aged 16-24yrs, many of whom have experienced domestic and family violence so you will need a high-level understanding of working with this cohort and be able to demonstrate skills in working with young women who have experienced trauma. You will have well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with and motivate young people and build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

You will bring:

• passion, commitment and belief in young people
• tertiary qualifications in a relevant field with a minimum four (4) years’ experience; or a minimum of five years’ experience in Employment Services operating at a senior level
• demonstrated experience or capacity in leading a team, and the ability to coach and guide team members to achieve organisational objectives
• an understanding of the local labour market as well as the barriers to employment faced by disadvantaged young people, and demonstrated knowledge of the range of government and community organisations and networks that are involved in providing services to young people
• demonstrated assessment skills and the capacity to successfully manage a caseload of disadvantaged young people to transition them into sustainable employment
• well-developed written communication skills and the ability to prepare reports and budgets
