Overview
 
The Clinical Lead is a part of the headspace Griffith team that works closely with the Centre Manager to ensure Centacare’s staff and core business is managed across locations. Headspace is a National Youth Mental Health Foundation, that focuses on early intervention to support young people between the ages of 12-25 with mental health, physical health (including sexual health), alcohol and drug services, as well as study support.

The Opportunity
 
Reporting to the Centre Manager, the Clinical Lead will also be responsible for:
 

  • Providing clinical leadership, consultation and expertise to headspace clinicians and privet practitioners in the delivery of specialist mental health care to young people and their families.
  • Contributing to the headspace program’s vision, strategic planning, and relevant policy development. 
  • Ensuring the collection of all relevant data in order to measure deliverables and continuously improve and evaluate the delivery of services at the headspace program.
  • Liaise and work closely with CYS staff and external providers, to ensure the effective functioning of the headspace program.

 
About You
For this appointment, we are seeking an individual with Tertiary level qualifications in an allied health discipline including social work, psychology, mental health nursing or occupational therapy with 3-5 years’ experience in the industry.

  • Current full AHPRA registration or current full membership/eligibility for membership (with mental health endorsement) with AASW.
  • Experience in counselling theory and counselling young people and supporting their recovery
  • High level of interpersonal skills with a proven ability to participate in a collaborative and supportive manner, and the capacity to work both independently and as part of team.
  • Sensitivity to the needs of people with special needs including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, Cultural and Linguistically Diverse clients, and the disabled and disadvantaged.
