CatholicCare’s Family Mental Health Support Service is seeking:

 

Child and Family Worker based in Launceston

Full or part time hours

 

The Family Mental Health Support Service (FMHSS) work with young people (aged up to 18yo) with the support of their families to identify risk factors or issues which may lead to poor mental health outcomes later in life, and collaboratively plan to address these issues and strengthen protective and positive factors. As Child and Family Worker you will work with a relative degree of autonomy and responsibility.

You will:

  • Provide short- and long-term early intervention support for children, young people and their families. This may include assessment and identification of needs, practical assistance and home-based support, linking to services and targeted therapeutic groups.
  • Support community outreach, mental health education and community development activities. This may include organisation of, and participation in, community events and general work in the community.
  • Facilitate small group work, including the facilitation of evidence-based programs
  • Hold a degree qualification in Social Work or Psychology or other human services qualification
