Working at Autism Queensland is about life and all the moments that make up each day. Our Community Inclusion Team provides high quality and tailored consultancy support to corporate and community organisations to understand and implement inclusive practices for neurodivergent and autistic individuals.
Individuals on the autism spectrum and those with sensory processing differences may encounter obstacles when it comes to accessing various environments. These challenges can restrict their involvement in routine activities, such as going to shopping centers, participating in sports groups, or traveling within the community. In this role, you’ll have a genuine opportunity to enable social change as you partner with organisations and businesses to increase their inclusive practices.
We’re on the look-out for individuals who, like us, understand that effecting systemic change to promote neurodiversity-affirming practices in environmental and physical spaces, as well as in policies and procedures, necessitates the creation of inclusive, inviting, and engaging environments that benefit everyone consistently.
An integral aspect of this role involves educating both our existing and prospective clients about the benefits of inclusive design, which eradicates the obstacles often found in traditional workplaces. By doing so, it ensures that every individual can access and actively participate in their work environment on an equal footing.
You’ll find this role exceptionally fulfilling if you’re enthusiastic about establishing nationwide connections with clients and industry partners while collaborating with exceptionally skilled, like-minded professionals. If you possess patience, persistence, and a deep appreciation for the meaningful work we’re engaged in within this field – and can effectively communicate that value to others, you’ll fit right in with the team.
