Community Transitions deliver innovative and successful rehabilitation services, and we are seeking experienced criminal justice professionals to join our WA team. 

The Program Intervention Worker(s) will primarily be based at Acacia Prison in Wooroloo, in the Shire of Mundaring, and are responsible for the provision of group based and individual counselling programs to support our reintegration and rehabilitation programs, as part of the throughcare support for men in custody at Acacia Prison.  

Responsibilities will include:

  • Counselling Interventions delivered in both group and individual (1:1) counselling.
  • Actively participating and ensuring that group facilitation is delivered to a high standard which includes the ability to manage difficult behaviour, 
  • Delivering high quality, professional interventions in line with organisational expectations, which are recorded in an appropriate and in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring the services provided facilitate positive client outcomes and targets, as set out via the case plans and expectations.
  • Providing clients with accurate and current information which empowers them to make informed decisions/choices for themselves.

Applications MUST include your resume AND a covering letter which outlines your experience against the key skills for this role, namely:

  1. Tertiary qualification in a human services discipline, ideally a degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counselling
  2. Proven experience delivering services to clients who have complex needs and/ or experience significant disadvantage. 
  3. Understanding of and/or experience working in criminal justice systems and/or practices, including within custodial facilities
  4. Experience in delivering 1:1 and/or group-based intervention programs in AOD and FDV.
  5. Excellent administrative skills, with high quality, concise, and timely case notes, reporting and referrals.
