Senior Mental Health Clinician – (Way back service) New Horizons

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a registered NDIS provider, New Horizons specialise in supporting people with disability, mental health concerns, those who are aged, people at risk of homelessness, humanitarian entrants, youth, and Indigenous Australians.

The Inclusion team exists to provide quality services to Customers and support our frontline employees. Your role exists to support a team and ensure Customer needs, contractual obligations and organisational objectives are met.

To be successful in this role, you will build positive, respectful and effective relationships with key Stakeholders

This is a Full-Time position with Max-Term for 1 Year until 28th June 2024, based at Tweed Heads South, NSW working across Lismore & Grafton. 

Working days are Monday – Friday ordinary hours reporting to the Reginal Lead.

What Is Expected of You

As Clinical Team Lead, you’ll report to the Regional Lead Inclusion Services for day-to-day operational direction and support. You have a dotted reporting line to our Clinical Lead- Multidisciplinary to ensure effective clinical approach, services, and supervision.

You will lead a team of high performing Support Coordinators.

Within New Horizons, you will work closely with other Customer Service leadership positions and frontline employees, as well as numerous New Horizons business streams; Customer Engagement, Product, Finance, Assets and Facilities, WHS and Service Excellence.

Externally, you will liaise with the Local Health District, GPs, Mental Health Clinicians, Primary Health Network, community members and other key stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or mental health Nursing, including eligibility for registration/membership with the appropriate professional body.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of outreach based psychosocial care
  • Demonstrated knowledge of both clinical and human services
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise employees, students and volunteers.
  • Demonstrated creative and proactive approach to the management of change.
  • Knowledge of and participation in continuous quality improvement processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines and efficient time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Exceptional Microsoft Office skills and proficiency with client database systems.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective community connections and relationships.
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team setting.
  • Technical literacy with proven ability to use EMR, Microsoft office and systems for reporting.
