Your new role

• Part time (0.4 FTE) Fixed term contract until 30 June 2025
• Located in Wagga Wagga, NSW
• Annual salary between $93,860.70 to $98,860.29

In this role you will provide support to the multidisciplinary team; have responsibility for the ongoing planning, development, and evaluation of the headspace Wagga eating disorder program; coordinate referrals, triage, and manage eating disorders pathways for young people accessing headspace Wagga Wagga; provide specialised clinical assessments/supervision and facilitate evidence-based individual and group therapy.

Duties:

In consultation with the Manager, Clinical Lead of headspace Wagga Wagga, the Eating Disorders Clinician will:

• Conduct evidence-based, young person centred, culturally safe, trauma-informed and developmentally appropriate assessments of eating disorders/disordered eating and co-occurring mental health disorders.
• Provide/coordinate evidence-based therapy models for treatment of young people with complex mental health disorders. For example, (DBT, FBT-E, CBT-E for Eating disorders).
• Adopt a family inclusive approach, valuing the significance of family in a young person’s life and actively supporting a young person’s family and facilitating their involvement in care and support of the young person.
• Liaise with GP’s and other health professionals (as required) to provide team-based care – specifically in the development and review of care plans and participating in case conferences, as in line with Medicare requirements.
• Comply with relevant ethical and legal requirements governing Mental Health services including headspace Wagga Wagga requirements as a clinician to scope of practice and organizational policies and legislation.

What you’ll need to succeed

1. Mental health experience and qualification in the field of Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Dietitian, Counselling or Social Science. Current registration/membership with at least one of the following: Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA), Australian Association for Social Workers (AASW); Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD); Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) and Level 2 or above Australian Counselling Association (ACA).
2. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the assessment and treatment of a range of complex and co-occurring mental health disorders including knowledge and understanding of eating disorders & disordered eating.
3. High level of training in one or more evidence-based therapy models for treatment of clients with complex mental health disorders. For example, (FBT, CBT-E for Eating disorders).
4. Knowledge and understanding of the theory underpinning evidence-based interventions and clinical practice as well as demonstrated excellence in the practical application of such, in the areas of youth mental health and alcohol and drug use
