About the role

We are currently seeking a values driven and proactive Dual Diagnosis Clinician, reporting to the Team Leader. You will provide specialist dual-diagnosis assessment, treatment and referral for people with co-occurring alcohol and other drug and mental health conditions in accordance with TSA guidelines (within a comprehensive participant-led, recovery-based framework).

You will successfully

  • Provide efficient day to day service delivery through education, interventions, assessment, referral and case work within a recovery-orientated and person-led service environment
  • Provide Dual-Diagnosis expertise and support to the broader AOD Services team, as required
  • Facilitate the delivery of therapeutic groups and brief intervention to clients as part of a holistic and harm reduction treatment approach
  • To develop and monitor individual treatment plans and maintain case management documentation, records, reports and data collection, utilising established case planning procedures
  • Assess client and program risk and mitigate risk in accordance with TSA policy and procedures
  • Demonstrate commitment to an environment that values continuous improvement and innovation in the delivery of high-quality services.
  • Provide reports (oral and/or written) to Program Manager as requested
  • Acquire and maintain a good working knowledge of referral and support options for clients
  • Work collaboratively and professionally with other services
  • Demonstrate effective teamwork

This is a permanent full time role in based in Dooralong, NSW. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Level 5 Award.

You will have

  • Degree level qualification in a relevant discipline (Social work, psychology, mental health nursing etc.)
  • Completed 4 AOD Skill Set Units (or willing to undertake/complete during employment)
  • High level of knowledge of AOD, mental health, community services and health sectors
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to work with those impacted by substance abuse, gambling and mental health conditions
  • Experience providing brief intervention and harm minimisation information and support to individuals
  • Experience working with people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background
  • Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and religions
  • Experience working in collaboration with other organisations
