Mental Health-People Connectors: ACDC Project (3.5 month contract project role)

Joining a passionate team you will be assisting communities through a direct connection project in the Westmead area and having crucial conversations around wellbeing and knowledge and use of local services.
About the role:
- In this 3.5 month project role , you will reach out to householders in different communities in Western Sydney and invite them to have a meaningful and respectful conversation about their mental health and wellbeing, as well as those of their families, friends, and the wider community.
- Offer householders information booklets and fridge magnets about relevant mental health support services available to them.
- Provide households with tailored information, that can also be in a significant community language to ensure accessibility and relevance to individuals.
- Invite householders to participate in a survey that is designed to give householders the opportunity to anonymously share information about their experiences and challenges with mental health and wellbeing, and that of their families, friends, and the wider community. Householders are also asked for ideas about how mental health and wellbeing services in their area could be improved.
About you:
- We are seeking applicants who have previous mental health, peer work or community engagement experience and at least 12 months of experience working in the mental health sector.
- Applicants should be confident, good communicators and have the ability to engage with people of different ages, cultures, and backgrounds.
- Excellent communication skills
- Current, unrestricted driver’s licence
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current National Police Check
