JOB DESCRIPTION

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, CAPABILITY, AND EXPERIENCE

Qualifications, licences and probity

  • A 3 or 4 year tertiary qualification in Child Protection, Human Services, Social Work, Psychology or related discipline.
  • It is desirable if you have previous experience working effectively across a range of service providers, both government and non-government, to negotiate high quality service provision to families who have complex issues.
  • You will hold a Provisional Green (P2) or Open Driver Licence. 
  • A positive notice in the Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and the ability to obtain any other legislatively required personal history screening as required. 
  • Evidence of current vaccination against Whooping Cough or willingness to obtain prior to commencement, unless applicable exemption provided as per the relevant MC procedure. 

Duties will Include

  • Assess the information they receive with a focus on the safety and protection of the children in the family
  • Provide advice where appropriate
  • Make contact with the family to discuss the concerns
  • Assess the type and level of support required
  • Refer the family to services to assist them, including Intensive Family Support services

Salary and Benefits

This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $41.52 to $44.68 plus superannuation (dependent on qualifications and experience). You will also have the opportunity to increase your take-home pay by salary sacrificing and other benefits.
