What you’ll do
Provide therapeutic casework to the current/former partners and family of MBC (Men’s Behavioural Change) clients. The position works as part of a multi-disciplinary team, contributes to program and service development, and supports the centre including promoting services to clients and stakeholders. Therapeutic Services to clients are provided in Arabic. 

In addition, you’ll

  • Provide therapeutic casework for the current/former partners and families of MBC program participants focusing on support and advocacy to victims/survivors of DFV in Arabic
  • Provide casework intervention as required and in consultation with the Team Leader
  • Apply person centred, trauma informed, MBC practice and strength-based approach to working with clients
  • Maintain service to clients from referral to closure as appropriate, including all clinical and administrative tasks
  • Assess the risks to victims and needs of children and other family members
  • Facilitation of groupwork programs face to face in Arabic

The details

  • 3 days per week
  • Contract to 30/6/24
  • Based at Blacktown
  • $44 – $49 per hour plus super, leave loading, salary packaging benefits

What you’ll do

  • Formal graduate qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or other relevant disciplines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including bi-lingual skills fluent in English as well as fluent Arabic
  • Casework experience in working with families that have experienced family domestic violence
  • Experience in facilitating group programs is desirable
  • Qualifications in counselling, trauma or other relevant disciplines is preferred
  • Completion (or working towards completion) of relevant training in MBC practice i.e. Grad Cert in MBC (Individual and Group) is desirable
