We are in an exciting growth phase, and as a result we are looking for a Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our Lower Southwest team. It is a full-time, permanent role, and you can work from our Margaret River or Bunbury office.

What’s the role?

The role will provide positive behaviour support services to children and adults that meet the highest quality possible within Therapy Focus standards of delivery.

To meet service delivery requirements in consultation with the Team Leader Positive Behaviour Support & Senior Manager Mental Health & Wellbeing.

Demonstrate clinical excellence and best practice in supporting people with behaviours of concern, upholding their human rights, holistically improving their quality of life while maintaining customer and stakeholder relationships.

To ensure all activities are effectively and efficiently carried out in accordance with the purpose and values, finance, and service delivery outcome measures.

What’s required?

Mandatory

  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • A passion for working with people with disability and specifically supporting behaviours of concern.
  • Suitability (or provisional suitability) through the NDIS Quality & Safeguarding Commission.
  • Current knowledge of clinical best practice and restrictive practices.
  • Strong organisation and prioritisation skills to manage workload.
  • Strong communication skills to raise and discuss sensitive topics.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with a team.

Desirable

  • 6 months experience working within a positive behaviour support framework and with people who exhibit behaviours of concern.
  • Experience working as a support worker for people with disability.
