Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Locum Family Service and Family Violence Practitioner to join our dynamic team. In this temporary role, you will play a vital role in providing essential services to individuals and families experiencing family violence and other related challenges. Your work will contribute to breaking the cycle of violence and improving the overall well-being of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals and families experiencing family violence.
  • Develop and implement client-centred intervention plans.
  • Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to clients in need.
  • Offer guidance, counselling, and resources to help clients address family violence issues.
  • Collaborate with community partners and organizations to ensure holistic support for clients.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records.
  • Participate in case conferences and team meetings.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices and developments in the field of family violence intervention.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional licensure or certification (if required in your jurisdiction).
  • Must have a minimum of 12 months of previous work experience in areas such as housing, homelessness, youth, family services, family violence, child protection, mental health in either case management or intake roles.
  • Strong assessment and case management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Compassion, empathy, and a commitment to helping individuals and families in crisis.
  • Knowledge of local resources and support services is a plus.
