About the opportunity

  • Full time, closed period contract until June 2024
  • Base from $96,132 pa, plus super and access to up to $18,550 pa tax free
  • Located in Turner, ACT

 

This is a management position within the Canberra Leadership team, specifically responsible for the Family Preservation team. You will be responsible day to day coordination, management and leadership of a team of caseworkers and family preservation program.

 

About You

  • Provide efficient and effective management of the Family Preservation program and Caseworkers
  • Oversee implementation of the programs day to day practice
  • Develop and collaborate with the Children, Youth and Family Lead to ensure a rigorous practice framework, processes, procedures and strategies to service vulnerable families
  • Prepare relevant program work plans and reports against achievements as required by our funders
  • Actively participate in local and sector networks, advocacy and consultation as relevant to the program.

What you need to succeed

  • Minimum of 5 years working with children and families with a minimum 2 years leadership experience
  • Demonstrated experience working with families with complex issues
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary services, developing and maintaining a motivated, professional and effective team
  • Demonstrated understanding of child protection issues with the capacity to identify risk levels and plan support plans accordingly
  • Demonstrated understanding of child protection framework and legislation and mandatory reporting
  • Ability to work out of hours and be available to support staff outside of hours
