About the organisation
Beaumont People are partnering with Community Action for Better Living Inc. (CABL), a not-for-profit community service based in Burwood NSW. CABL provides a Women’s Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service (WDVCAS), Family Support Service and Meals on Wheels (MOW) to communities in the Inner West of Sydney. CABL’s WDVCAS covers the Burwood and Bankstown Local Courts.
Our highly skilled and professional staff team provide trauma-informed, client-centred and culturally safe support to clients. Services are provided by phone, face-to-face at our centre, at the courts, through outreach services and community engagement.
  
About this role
This role will require operational oversight and clinical support to a team of domestic family violence (DFV) specialists, as well as hold a presence in the community through networking and engagement.
Your day to day will be exciting and dynamic, and include:

  • Supervision and leadership of team of 11 staff within WDVCAS team
  • Providing extensive knowledge and insight to the team regarding the DFV space and the intricacies of legal aspects
  • Liaising with the CEO and senior leadership team to provide regular service updates.
  • Preparing and reporting to the board and funding bodies on service updates
  • Ongoing management of budgets for service
  • Ongoing review of policies and procedures as needed
  • Ensuring service delivery is consistent in meeting client needs and funding body and service provider expectations.

  
What you bring to the role
To be successful in this role, you will need to be an exemplary leader who is adaptable and responsive to the constantly changing environment of the community services space. You will also require:

  • 3-5 years’ experience within Domestic & Family Violence (DFV) sector, with strong emphasis on trauma-informed, client-centred support, legal aspects of DFV (local and family court & child protection), compliance and safety measures.
  • A degree qualification in Social Work or a relevant field
  • Experience providing transformational leadership and mentorship to a team of specialist workers, including providing learning and development support, team building activities, and debriefing.
  • Confidence in providing ongoing, relevant updates to the CEO, Board, and funding bodies regarding important matters of the team, reports on KPI’s and other service updates.
  • An ability to effectively manage budgets, including providing input and oversight of expenditures.
  • A supportive, approachable & flexible approach to leadership, with a growth mindset
  • A valid Working with Children Check (WCCC) and Police Check are essential
  • Valid Driver License and access to a vehicle is highly desired.
