JOB DESCRIPTION

Junction Psychology is a thriving private practice and is looking for a Clinical Psychologist, Generally Registered psychologist seeking Clinical Endorsement or final year Master of Psychology (Clinical) student to join this friendly and growing practice.Students currently completing a Master of Psychology (Clinical) are encouraged to apply.

We are interested in individuals who are warm, able to work autonomously and who are enthusiastic about therapeutic practice and process working primarily with adults and older adolescents.

The position currently on offer is a contract position with generous fee arrangements and superannuation contribution guarantee included.

We are interested in meeting with applicants who are available to see clients up to 5 days per week however applicants seeking fewer days are warmly invited. We encourage applicants with a strong process and relationship focused approach with solid experience in evidence based practice.

Successful applicants will benefit from our well-established and consistent referral base. Clinical psychology registrars will be offered supervision from a Board Approved Supervisor to enable endorsement. Mentoring and support for all psychologists is available to help them thrive within the private practice setting.

Essential Criteria

  • Full registration as a psychologist with APHRA
  • Master degree in Clinical Psychology or currently undertaking – a referee from your current clinical program will be required
  • Eligible to register to provide psychological services through Medicare and private health providers
  • Currently have, or willing and eligible to obtain, an ABN
  • Strong focus and personal philosophy around client-therapist relationship
  • Possess a warm, friendly, and professional therapeutic style
  • Experienced and skilled in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of mental health disorders
  • Able to work independently and autonomously
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and formal peer or individual supervision
  • High-level interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to complete written reports (e.g., Medicare MHCP reports and GP letters)
  • Exceptional time-management and organisational skills, with commitment to timely reporting to referrers
  • Ability and willingness to handle some basic administrative duties, including taking client payments and using practice management software

Desirable

  • A specific area of interest or training of therapeutic work
  • Experience in working with trauma and complex trauma
  • Previous private practice experience
