About Stopping Family Violence

Stopping Family Violence (SFV) is a not-for-profit, focused on stopping violence against women and children through fostering relationships, advocacy, policy, research, and training. Advancing and promoting best practices in perpetrator responses for the safety of victim-survivors as the peak body in Western Australia. 

About the Role

The workforce development and training role is responsible for the management and delivery of a range of training events and capacity building in family, domestic and sexual violence (FDSV). This includes delivery of a wide range of training events, developing content, market research, promoting and filling training events, report writing, consultation, advocacy and review. Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders as well as meeting criteria and managing tasks to meet key performance indicators. The role is available four days per or on a 9 day fortnight roster (pro-rata) on a contract for 12 months. This role includes regional travel and fortnightly weekend delivery on either Saturday or Sunday from 2024. 

Current Projects

Training is often delivered for those working in front line roles in family and domestic violence. Training participants can also include intersecting front line roles such as first responders or intersecting health professional in mental health, disability, alcohol and other drugs and counselling. Training is often the start of the journey for organisations to shift to family and domestic violence informed practice and we encourage and provide as many supports to organisations such as supervision, policy review, peer support and ongoing reviews and training plans. This role will be responsible for the success of training and workforce development activities for Stopping Family Violence.

Key Duties 

  • Managing key training events and workforce development from managing bookings, coordinating consultations, IT, administration, review and reporting deadlines. 
  • Prepare concise impact-oriented reports of activities and events, analysing key information and metrics to optimise current and future training.
  • Managing administrative tasks, such as document and information distribution, report collation, communication support with internal and external stakeholders and providing updates and reports.
  • Coordination of training and workforce development including logistics, administration, and scheduling. 
  • Establish and maintain key-stakeholder partnerships and contractor relationships. 
  • Develop training calenders and plans to ensure key deadlines are met. 
  • Prepare necessary reports using appropriate language, format, referencing and with regards to the intended audience.
  • Ensure necessary reports are developed and submitted within required timeframes.

Selection Criteria 

  • Formal qualification and experience in; social work, psychology, community services, family and domestic violence research (or proven equivalent experience) (required)
  • An understanding and familiarity delivering family and domestic violence training and a keen interest to develop and learn more about the sector (required) 
  • Strong experience in facilitating small and large groups in a range of training settings (required) 
  • Demonstrated performance within a team ensuring well-planned and well-executed training and events (required)
  • An understanding of community services and not-for-profits (desirable).

This position will be located in Victoria Park, however there will be a requirement to work from various locations around Perth metropolitan and regional travel and weekend work as part of the role.
