abrs are thrilled to present an exceptional career opportunity as a Family Support Manager based in Western Sydney, NSW. We are looking for an individual with a passion for supporting and guiding families within our Children, Youth, and Families division. Our client, a well-respected, Christian organisation is on the look-out for a like-minded leader who can bring strategic direction and compassion to the forefront of their mission.

This role will involve;

  • Coordinate the provision of service, ie. family work, casework, group work, family counselling, children’s groups and others as developed to enhance family functioning
  • Allocation of casework & group work
  • Case planning and review to ensure that best practice in service delivery is maintained for all service stakeholders.
  • Provide personal support and accountability for Family Support staff through developing a supportive and inclusive team culture, staff supervision, appraisal, and appropriate in-service training.
  • Facilitate relationships with appropriate agencies, industry groups and committees to promote the Service activities through staff participation.
  • Promote grievance procedure to all clients/consumers/staff and respond in line with the grievance procedures.
  • Ensure appropriate operational systems, records and statistical data are maintained.
  • Assist the Business Manager in the development of policy and procedures and aid in the implementation and ongoing review and monitoring of policy and procedures.
  • Lead the recruitment of Family Support staff in accordance with employment policies.
  • Assist with community liaison and promotion of the service with local agencies and other similar agencies and via inter agencies

They are looking for candidates with leadership experience within child and family based programs 

The requirements for this role include;

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work/ Social Welfare/ Psychology or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar community-based service.
  • High-level written and verbal skills, and computer literacy.
  • Demonstrated experience working within a child protection or family preservation program
  • Demonstrated networking and advocacy skills.
  • Current Working with Children’s Check and Driver’s License

Selection Criteria is required to be completed prior to interview for this position.
