About the Role 

Join a dynamic and impactful team as a Child and Family Programs Practitioner! Are you an experienced Early Childhood professional looking for a fulfilling role outside of the classroom? Experienced in meaningful program design and delivery in an early childhood setting? We want to hear from you! 

We are looking for an experienced and passionate individual to lead the development, delivery, and evaluation of early intervention, prevention, and targeted programs for high-risk Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families in the Logan community aimed at whole-of-family support and change. 

Your work will have a direct impact on vulnerable Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, and you will play a crucial role in their wellbeing and development. 

Duties

  • Lead the identification of at-risk and vulnerable families in the Logan community by delivering assertive community outreach. 

  • Lead in the design and packaging of targeted programs, based on family needs, presentations, and characteristics of the client group 

  • Lead the facilitation of targeted child and family programs at the Child and Family Centre to facilitate positive child-parent attachment and family wellbeing. 

  • Demonstrated ability and comfortableness working in a performance driven environment to meet individual weekly, monthly and quarterly performance targets. 

  • Experience in program design and facilitation, or an eagerness to learn quickly. 

  • Demonstrated ability to build family agency, self-efficacy and facilitate change through family empowerment, while actively discouraging client dependence on supports. 

  • Demonstrated ability to work with the whole-of-family, irrespective of primary client, in meeting the totality of family needs. 

  • Demonstrated ability in coordinating multiple services in providing access to holistic care for clients. 

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the vulnerability, disengagement, and intergenerational trauma of client group. 

  • Experience with case management for high risk and/or crisis clients, with high-level planning and organisational skills.

  • Permanent Full time position with annual salary of $83,517
  • 11 % Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging (Increases your take home pay).

COVID-19 Requirements

  • Immunisation history showing you have received two doses of a Covid -19 vaccinine.

Essential Qualification and/or Experience: 

  • Diploma and above qualifications in Social Work, Human Services, Early Childhood  Education, Nursing, Social Science, Health, Allied Health, Youth Work, Community Services, Family Intervention or Criminology with 3 years’ relevant experience in family support, child protection, youth support, teaching, nursing or related field and at least 1 year of program delivery experience in a community setting.

Additional Requirements

  • Requirement to travel across the Logan area and conduct community engagement activities to engage families. 

  • Requirement to assist with transporting clients to and from the service 

  • Current drivers’ licence. 

  • Flexibility to work outside 8:30am-5pm business hours in meeting individual family needs and provide responsive care. 

  • Working with Children’s Card (Blue Card) and Yellow Card or be eligible to apply
