JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Use your clinical and therapeutic skills to support parents, children and young people referred into the Intensive Family Services Program
  • Full time or part time fixed term to 30 June 2025

About the Role

Family Practitioners are responsible for supporting parents, children, young people and extended family members referred into the Intensive Family Services Program. Practitioners will provide assessment, case formulation and intensive case work for each family member and for the whole family incorporating family led decision making processes. As well, Family Practitioners will provide therapeutic support using single session and family therapy modalities.

The primary responsibilities of this role are to:

  • Provide case management for a caseload of 9 – 12 families
  • Provide intensive casework responses and direct support to each family for a minimum of 4 hours per week for up to 6 months.
  • Monitor the family progression towards case plan goals, and through supervision, adjust the plan as necessary.
  • Walking Together Representation and Community Development 

About You

The person we are seeking will have suitable qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences, or Community Services or equivalent extensive experience in a similar role.

 

You will also have:

 A current South Australian Driver’s Licence.

  • Child Safe Environments Training (Through Their Eyes).
  • A current DHS Working With Children Check, Working with Vulnerable Person’s Check and National Police Clearance or willing to obtain one at your own cost prior to commencement of employment.

The Walking Together Western Intensive Family Support Service is provided by a consortia of community-based organisations in the western region of Adelaide. Relationships Australia South Australia (RASA) is the lead agency, with Family Practitioners employed by either UCWB or KWY.
