The Position

St John of God Bunbury Hospital is a modern facility serving the regional communities of WA’s south west coastal towns, including the regional city of Bunbury, and its major centres comprising of Collie, Busselton and Margaret River. It is co-located on the South West Health Campus with the public hospital. We are recognised as a cosmopolitan regional City and are rich in art, culture and heritage; boasting a number of natural and tourist attractions.

We are currently seeking a Music Therapist to join our team based in Bunbury. The Music Therapist works alongside the Multi-disciplinary team to provide clinical music therapy services to our clients/patients using evidence based clinical practice skills. If successful, you will ensure practice is in accordance to the Australian Music Therapy Association (AMTA) Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice and SJGHC policies and guidelines.

This is a fixed term full time contract, up to 76 hours per fortnight.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.
  • A degree in music and postgraduate qualification in music therapy with eligibility for membership and registration with the Australian Music Therapy Association (AMTA).
  • Demonstrated ability to provide skilled and professional Music Therapy including group therapy, and music therapy in response to sound evaluative processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • An understanding of, and commitment to, quality improvement is highly regarded.
  • Demonstrate understanding of a variety of both public and private funding arrangements is highly regarded.
