Lismore Community Health services are seeking a Mental Health Professional to Work in partnership with children and young people, carers and primary care providers to deliver an initial triage response to referrals for children and young people aged 0-18 years with or at risk of serious mental illness.
Providing a triage response 7 days a week, extended hours (8.00am to 8.30pm) Northern NSW Local Health District (NNSWLHD) wide service responsible for responding to referrals to the NNSWLHD Child and Adolescent Mental Health service via a single point of contact.
If you have:
- Bachelor of Occupational Therapy registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or relevant qualification in Social Work with eligibility for membership to Australian Association of Social Workers. To be appointed as a Level 3 Health professional evidence must be provided of three years’ clinical experience and demonstrated experience of extensive specialist knowledge or a high level of broad generalist knowledge within the discipline as defined by the award definitions of a level 3 practitioner OR Registered with AHPRA and full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia OR Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) and at least 3 years’ full time equivalent clinical experience in the management of clients with mental health conditions; with a post graduate qualification in a specialty related to mental health nursing
- Experience and skills in the early identification, assessment and evidence based treatment of children and young people with or at risk of developing serious mental illness and their families and carers
- Ability to resource and build the capacity of partner agencies and service providers in early identification of risk and appropriate referral and support strategies for children and young persons and their carers
- The ability to work in partnership with other key agencies, including an understanding of referral processes and the value of those services to the wellbeing and recovery of the children and young persons and their family/carer
