Our client is a leading provider of social services and programs across the Northern Territory, aimed at improving the well-being and quality of life for individuals, couples, families, children, groups, schools, and agencies. Our client’s diverse range of services includes Family and Relationship Services (FaRS), Crime Victims Counselling (CVC), Employee Assistance Program (EAP) counseling, Children & Parenting support, and Elders Visiting Program services.

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Team Leader of Counselling to oversee and manage the delivery of the counseling programs throughout the Northern Territory. This role involves providing strong leadership, support, and direction to a team of counsellors while ensuring that services are delivered efficiently and effectively. The Team Leader will play a crucial role in our client’s mission to support the well-being and mental health of our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and supervision to a team of counsellors, ensuring they deliver high-quality counseling services.
  • Oversee the successful implementation and evaluation of the Family and Relationship Services (FaRS), Crime Victims Counselling (CVC), Employee Assistance Program (EAP) counseling, Children & Parenting, and Elders Visiting Program services.
  • Mentor, train, and guide counselling staff, promoting their professional growth and development.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients and partner organisations to ensure the effective delivery of counseling programs.
  • Monitor and assess the quality and effectiveness of counseling services, making necessary adjustments and improvements.
  • Collaborate with the management team to manage budgets and resources effectively for counseling programs.
  • Maintain accurate records, collect data, and prepare reports on program outcomes and client progress.
  • Ensure that counseling services adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Promote and represent the organization in the community, fostering awareness of our services and building partnerships with local agencies and schools.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field. 
  • Proven experience in counselling, with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a counseling or social services setting.
  • Familiarity with Northern Territory’s social services landscape and relevant legislation.
  • Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively and independently, while handling multiple tasks and responsibilities.
